Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2, 1985) is an American actor from the United States. Her character, Molly Solverson, in season one of FX's Fargo television series has earned her nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe. Tolman was raised with three older siblings and one younger. When she was only two months old, her family relocated to England and stayed there for 4 years. Before making the move to Sugar Land in Texas, she lived for five years in Oklahoma as well as West Texas. When she was ten years old, she started acting at Fort Bend Community Theatre. Tolman received praise for her performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson, with Vanity Fair writing her that she "calmly and certainly took over the whole film". She won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for a movie/ministry, she was nominated as Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. In the same year it was revealed that Tolman will have a guest appearance on the Mindy project on the show as Abby Berman who is a romance author. She had a role as an actor in Michael Dougherty's movie about horror Krampus. Tolman declined parts in the supporting roles like best friends, spouses, and mothers after her breakout role in Fargo. She was looking for an unusual role. Tolman appeared in ABC's Downward Dog in 2017, based on Animal Media Group's website series. It was cancelled following one season. Tolman, who is an active Twitter user, stated that she earned "pretty remarkable" ratings on The ABC show Emergence.
